This beautiful site rolls gently down to a Pohutakawa fringed estuary within the upper reaches of the Waitemata harbour. My clients great love of land and sea inspired a vision to regenerate the land, plant native species and develop an orchard and vegetable beds.

Formally the site was a large lawn with many invasive weed species around the perimeter, slowly destroying the remnant native coastal ecology. The design concept was to strengthen the environment with additional native planting and blend this into the orchard.  Heritage fruit trees are planted with native Carex , legumes Clianthus puniceus(Kaka beak) and Carmichealia, alongside perennials Salvia, Rudbeckia, Echinacea and Geranium.
